Puffing Billy

The historical steam train Puffing Billy is only a short drive, or even train ride, from the Canterbury International Hotel.

It is Australia’s premier steam railway and operates everyday of the year except for Christmas Day.

If you are looking for either a half day or full day activity Puffing Billy has train ride options to suit your itinerary. This is the perfect stand-alone experience in the Dandenong Ranges or you can add it to part of your touring schedule.

Sky High

The Sky-High offers one of the best vantage points to see Melbourne from up in the clouds. Take a scenic drive up Mount Dandenong and you will not be disappointed with the breathtaking views this major tourist attraction has to offer.

Whilst there you can enjoy the Sky High bistro for something to eat as you take in the majestic scenery, walk in the stunning surrounding gardens or adventure into the giant maze.

Cloudehill Gardens

Situated just past the historical township of Olinda is Cloudehill Gardens. Positioned on the easterly slope of the Dandenong’s, at an altitude of 580 metres, this is a must-see experience for lovers of nature and those wanting a truly unique garden experience.

These gardens are internationally renowned and only a short trip from the Canterbury International Hotel. Whilst there you can also enjoy culinary delights at the enchanting Cloudehill Restaurant – also a must for the spectacular views of the surrounding gardens and ranges.

Kokoda Memorial Walk (1000 Steps)

Just a short drive from Canterbury International Hotel is the Kokoda Memorial Walk – also known locally as the 1000 steps. This is a great activity for those who like to be active!! The walk, whilst steep, is also invigorating and provides an amazing forest experience as well as spectacular views.

Known for its historical reference to the Kokoda Trail, the National Park also offers information points to enhance the experience. If you are seeking an adventure and would like to take a step into the Forest – this is a must activity for you.

Tesselaar Tulip & Kabloom Festival

Tesselaar Tulip and Kabloom festivals are held in April and October of each year. Kabloom is a floral bonanza held in April and is new to the Tesselaar offering.
